Status Weekly Roundup: Wallet team Ever wondered about the source of our asset list? We rely on the Uniswap token list (https://t.co/Q4DMrqtL07) as a source of trusted ERC-20 token contract addresses and metadata. The great things about the Uniswap default token list are that it uses the new multichain token list format and is the canonical listing of asset contract addresses on all Ethereum chains. Before each new release of Status goes out, the Uniswap token list for that release is added to that release’s first RC (release candidate) build. There is then a minimum of a two-week gap from when the first RC release is made before the final non-RC release of a new version of Status goes out publicly. This ensures that there is always a minimum of a two-week gap between a token list being added and a final release so that any bugs or attacks on the token list can be identified. The Uniswap default token list is the most widely used and trusted token list in existence and is security-critical for many projects, including Uniswap. Any issues with the Uniswap default token list will likely be identified very quickly. All of this is to ensure that the ERC-20 tokens that Status displays are authentic and not fraudulent. #EthStatusProgress
